Step 1: Drawing the landscape

Very lightly, using pencil, create a line drawing that highlights characteristics of the Japanese landscape. To give you some ideas, click on the two links below to view actual photographs of the Japanese landscape. Example #1 * Example #2

*Note- To make your drawing similar to the actual Japanese ink wash paintings you viewed earlier, be aware that you want to leave areas of space.

Once your pencil drawing is complete, trace over your pencil drawing with the ink pen.
