The Belle Harbor School-P.S.114Q is the neighborhood  school that serves as the focal point for the joining together of the Belle Harbor, Neponsit, Breezy Point, Roxbury, Rockaway Point, Rockaway Park and Arverne communities on the Rockaway Peninsula. The school community encompasses a population with a diversity of cultural, social and political beliefs representing a range of educational, economic and ethnic backgrounds.

There is great pride in the accomplishments of the school and the students. Parental involvement is strong from families new to the community and from families with muliple generations having attended the school.

Our "Literacy // Enrichment Sub - Committee", an ad-hoc subcommittee of both our School Leadership Team ("S.L.T.") and our Parent Teacher Association ("P.T.A."), is comprised of representatives involving all the constituencies of The Belle Harbor School - P.S. 114Q. This Committee exists to support the coordination of instruction, instructional material, curriculum, and Learning Leader activity. We invite those with an interest in the education of our students to participate.

While welcoming varied opinions, The Belle Harbor school community is united in its desire for a quality education program that incorporates standards of excellence and high expectations for academic achievement.
