This is the story of how Tai and Kari met their first Digimon, and how the rest of the original Digidestined were chosen.

On one quiet day, a digi-egg appears in Tai's computer. It hatches into Koromon, who quickly becomes their new best friend. Tai and Kari have a chaotic day where they try to play with Koromon and keep him out of trouble.
It gets worse when he digivolves into a giant Agumon, and starts to wander around the city.

The barrier between the real world and the digital world is still weak though, and a gigantic menace, Parrotmon appears.
Inspired by Tai's courage and Kari's gentle heart, Agumon finds the strength to digivolve into Greymon and defeat this enemy.

All of the Digidestined end up forgetting the details of this event until much later, when they are united as a team. After the battle, there is only the wreckage of ruined buildings. The news media would call this a terrorist bombing, but we know better.....

The second part of the Digimon movie takes place six months after the first season is over. It is summertime, and the children are all off vacationing. Joe is studying as always, Mimi is in Hawaii, Matt and T.K. are visiting their grandparents, Sora is angry at Tai's insenstivity and Kari is at a friend's birthday party. This leaves only Tai and Izzy ready to deal with a new threat to the real world.

It all starts when Izzy starts to notice a new virus appearing in the Internet. It rapidly digivolves and begins to take control of the U.S. army's nuclear arsenal. Gennai is able to send their Digimon to help them, but even Greymon and Kabuterimon cannot stop Diaboromon.

Matt and T.K. are able to receive Tai's desperate call for help, but with telephone and Internet services down all over Japan, it's almost impossible for them to stay in touch. Patomon and Tentomon are quickly defeated by Diaboromon, who has now evolved into Mega level.

Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon stage a desperate last strike again their stronger and faster opponent and are overwhelmingly defeated. Diaboromon has accessed the U.S. nuclear arsenal and is about to destroy the world when Tai and Matt are somehow able to appear inside the Internet. Their deep bond with their Digimon allows them to transcend all barriers, and fueled by the hopes and wishes of all of the world's children, Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon digivolve together into....Omnimon.
With powers greater than any single Digimon, Omnimon is able to defeat Diaboromon and restore peace to both worlds, for now.

The third part of the movie stars the Digidestined from Season 2. Willis is an American Digidestined with two Digimon. Terriermon and his brother Kokomon. However, Kokomon has been infected with a virus which is gradually corrupting him. He haunts Willis, causing destruction wherever Willis goes

At the same time, Kari and T.K. are visiting their friend Mimi in New York when Mimi suddenly disappears. Little do they know that the rest of the original Digidestined are all disappearing, kidnapped by Kokomon, who is trying to find Willis. Realizing that they are too old to be Willis, he turns them all into small children, hoping that one of them is Willis.

While trying to find out what's going on, T.K. and Kari notice a battle between Terriermon and Kokomon, who has finally found Willis. Kokomon keeps urging Willis to go back to the beginning. Realizing they need help, Kari and T.K. call Davis, Yolei and Cody for help.

The other three Digidestined manage to make it to America in time to meet up with Willis. Willis explains the story of how he found the twin Digimon, and of the virus that infected Kokomon. Davis in particular is moved by the story and all of them offer to help, but they are caught off-guard when Kokomon attacks again. His sheer power overwhelms the Digidestined, especially when he digivolves again. Angemon and Angewomon appear at the last minute to save the Digimon from being eaten, but even their power cannot stop Kokomon.

Kokomon begins to reverse time, de-aging all of the Digidestined. Finally Willis realizes that Kokomon actually wants to go back before the virus infected him, but he can't do it by himself. Angemon and Angewomon stage a desperate ploy and summon the Golden Digi-eggs. Utilizing the Golden Digi-egg of Miracles and Fate, Davis and Willis allow their Digimon to digivolve into Magnamon and Rapidmon. Using their incredible new powers, Magnamon and Rapidmon are able to destroy the virus and free Kokomon.

Saddened that he lost his friend, Willis gains hope by realizing he has new friends in the rest of the Digidestined. And his tears of sorrow turn into tears of joy when he finds a new Digi-egg that just washed up, a Digi-egg that contains an old friend.
