The school, the home, and community will work together to acquire the necessary tools and skills to ensure that all students meet the challenges of today's society with an emphasis on becoming productive members of the 21st century. In order to achieve our mission, the school will focus on a performance standards instructional program in a nurturing environment while helping all of our students develop, including those students with special needs and ELL students. Here they will learn the social, emotional and community skills needed in order to become productive citizens and future leaders.

School Description

Public School 209 is located in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn, New York. This Pre-K-8th grade school serves a population of approximately 760 students from culturally diverse backgrounds. The school is a central part of th e community to many of the students and their families. The school building is a well-kept, modern building where pride in the students' accomplishments is evident and prominently displayed.
