Message from the Teachers:
The fifth grade works extremely hard throughout the year to provide instructional lessons that support all of the needs of our students. On a daily basis, Balanced Literacy, Everyday Math, Social Studies, Health and Art are taught to our students. Our goal in the fifth grade is to prepare our students for any academic challenges that they may face in the future.
To enhance our daily lessons, fifth grade students are required to do monthly reports. Our students are planning on researching topics about Mammals and the United States. As part of Balanced Literacy in reading, students will also create their own memoirs. We are also preparing our students for the upcoming City Wide exams in Math and Reading, A good way for parents to help their child's academic success is to review all lessons taught in the classroom at home. A continuing partnership in education between teacher's and parents ensures a students academic success. |
