Message from the Teachers:
This year the third grade is following the city appointed Balanced Literacy program for reading and Everyday Math. It is both exciting and challenging and will prepare the children for the upcoming citywide tests. In Social Studies, we will be "visiting" other communities around the world. Those communities include Japan, China and South Africa. Language Arts and grammar will be the focus for all writing that we do. The children will be writing book reports, poems, letters, postcards and autobiographies. Trips will be ongoing throughout the year to enhance the curriculum within the classroom.
Test prep for the upcoming city-wide(s) are in progress. Please check the link under "Just for Parents" for the testing calendar this year. Begin reviewing at home with your child for the exams.
