On September 26, 2002, award winning author, Johanna Reiss visited Shallow! Ms. Reiss has written "The Upstairs Room," a Newbery Honor book and
"The Journey Back.".

The presentation by Ms. Reiss was exciting, informative and a stepping stone to our continued learning.

We thank Ms. Reiss for visiting with our 6th grade students and discussing her courage and determination during World War II.
