1)  Q What do I do if my child is going to be absent?
A

You may call the school at 718-372-0221 so the teacher can prepare a HW package for you to pick up.
Please send your child in with a medical note in the event he/she was seen by a doctor.

2)  Q Who can sign my child out of school early?
A
If your child needs to be taken out of school at any time during the day, his/her parent or designee must sign out and sign back in the child in the school office. Minors may not sign a child out of school.
3)  Q Whom do I call about school bus transportation?
A
Call the PArent Coordinator, Mrs. Lloyd at 1-347-563-4680
4)  Q What do I do if I change my address, telephone number or employment?
A
Call the school office immediately at 718-372-0221 and speak to Mrs. Josephine.
5)  Q What do I do if my child has a problem in class?
A

1. As much as possible, let your child handle it!
2. If necessary, first speak to the teacher.
3. If you do not feel the issue was resolved, call the parent coordinator, Mrs Lloyd at 1-347-563-4680
3. If you do not feel the matter is resolved, you may contact the Assistant Principal (Mrs. Kane) or Principal (Mr. Korrol)

6)  Q How do I get more information about instruction, materials, programs or operations?
A
1. Speak to the teacher.
2. If unresolved, speak to the Parent Coordinator.
3. If necessary, speak to the Assistant Principal.
7)  Q How am I notified about No School, Delayed Openings, or Emergencies?
A

In an emergency, school closing or delayed opening, the school will make every effort to communicate with you via the most relevant and available means, including:

  • An automated phone message using School Messenger.
  • Local radio and television stations. Radio stations such as 1010Wins, NY1, or any other local station.

When weather is uncertain, the Chancellor may call a delayed opening of two hours or cancellation of school. Please make contingency plans for your children if there is a delayed opening; children cannot be left at school since teachers and administrators will not be arriving until the delayed opening of school. In an extreme emergency the Chancellor of Schools may dismiss school early, every effort will be made to alert parents via the means listed above.
