Mathematics

    Here at Public School 101, we use a comprehensive mathematical program entitled Math Connects, by McGraw Hill Companies.  This program is used throughout grades K-5.  The curriculum focal points identify key mathematical ideas for each grade and are aligned with the New York State curriculum core standards.  In addition, questions are aligned to the standards in a format of the New York State Mathemetics Test to provide opportunities to sharpen test taking skills.
     This mathematics program encompasses an online component which consists of a personal tutor, self-check quizzes, multicultural eGlossary, Chapter Tests and more.  The online chapter tests will allow us to track student progress and target skills in need of improvement.  Parents can connect to glencoe.com for access to the eBook.  This enables parents and children to review skills being taught in school. 
     Mathematics is an integral part of our daily lives and this program provides  many problem-solving activities and resources to enable students to learn mathematics and make connections in their daily lives.
