We believe that young adolescents need a small and nuturing environment. Therefore, we have organizied our students into smaller units called vertical houses. Students with special needs are included in each and mainstreaming is frequent. We believe that students thrive in a larger junior high school setting where they can recieve enhanced educational services in programs only available in a larger school. We offer students the best of both worlds. We offer Special Progress classes. Students earn Regent credits toward their high school diploma in mathematics and science. Student Advisories, Law and Ethics Institute, Young Women's Leadership, Student Government and Peer Conflict Resolution programs are examples of our commitment to nurturing positive student leadership.
