An integrated curricular project
Our fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classes developed projects related to immigration and migration in our community using technology to present our findings.
Our class created a Hyperstudio stack which is a virtual tour of some immigration landmarks in our neighborhood. On our actual walking tours we explored Bialystoker Synagogue, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Henry Street Settlement House, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and our own "landmark," P.S. 110. We wrote about what we learned and we took digital photos to add to our stack. We also examined some real artifacts from P.S. 110's history and discussed how we could find out about students who came to our school in earlier days.

and our own school, P.S. 110. We made drawings, added digital photos, and wrote facts about the places we visited. Here's our school mascot, the owl.
