Parent Information

Parent Volunteers

Participating in the life of the school, parents volunteer their special talents. Parents who wish to volunteer are encouraged to contact the Parent Association, the Principal of their child's teacher.

Parent Literacy Center (Project READ)

The Parent Literacy Center is located in Room 102. Information and reading materials are available for parents. In addition, a series of workshops will be held on topics of interest for parents. Look out for posters and flyers announcing upcoming events.

Parent Association Meetings

Parents are urged to attend meetings which inform them about the school's instructional programs and enable them to learn how they can help the school teach their children. General membership meetings will be held once a month or as needed. Notification will be sent home in advance with the children.

Class Parents

We request that one or more parents from each class volunteer to act as a liaison between parents and teachers, and assist teachers in planning class programs, trips, etc.

Communications

Communication lines are open on various levels to help maintain understanding between school and parent, parent and teacher, teacher and child. If a parent needs to speak to a teacher, the Principal or any other staff member, please call or send a note and an appointment will be made for you. Each class produces a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed about what is happening in class. There is also a monthly school wide newspaper.
