Webmasters note: This calculator has many more functions and calculates to a much higher precision (16 digits) than our previous calculator. Unfortunately the higher precision does cause some very slight errors. For example the cosine of 60 degrees is .5 however on some systems it will display as 0.5000000000000001 , the tangent of 45 degrees is one but will display here as 0.9999999999999999 . The solution to this problem is to round off your answers to 14 decimal places or less. For most school problems rounding to four decimal places should be sufficient. Ask your teacher for help with rounding off decimals, if necessary
A solid substance that is a good conductor of heat and electricity. Can be formed into many shapes.
Metalloid
"Middle elements" - conduct heat and electricity better than nonmetals, but not as well as metals. Easier to shape than nonmetals, but not as easy as metals. Solid at room temperature.
Nonmetals
A poor conductor of heat and electricity. Not easily formed into shapes.
