In 1997, HBO
joined the Frederick Douglass Academy extended family.
More than 50
staff members became mentors to FDA students. Twenty students had an
additional opportunity to complete internships. HBO financed FDA's
weekend SAT program. FDA was fortunate to receive 100 computers from
HBO which allowed classroom teachers to setup workstations in their
classrooms.
In 1999, HBO
motivated FDA to participate in the CISCO (Time Warner) program. The
CISCO program provided our Juniors and Seniors an opportunity
to learn
about Local
Area and Wide Area Networking.
