FDA Visits Belarussia
| In 1999 and 2001 the Frederick Douglass Academy worked on a joint student research hazard map project sponsored by iEarn organization. The students spent the first part of the year emailing each other and getting to know each other. The second part of the year involved a student/teacher exchange, our students and teachers had the opportunity to live with students and teachers in Bellarussia. The first year Mr. Marc Weuker accompanied four students to Bellarussia and two years later Ms. Asendio Weuker accompanied four students to Bellarussia for a three week stay. In the spring the students from Bellarussia visited our school and lived in our student's homes. This program was hugely successful as the teachers and students have remained in contact and both groups learned that they are more similar than different. |
