Mission:

The English courses offered in the Communication Arts department reinforce the standards of speaking, reading, writing, listening and viewing. At Grover Cleveland High School, we "take pride in inspiring students to grow academically, socially, and morally." Therefore, our courses are designed to foster lifelong learning through analysis of written and spoken word. Eight credits of English are required for graduation, and each student must pass the NYS English Regent with a score of 65 or better in order to graduate. Each course builds upon a foundation of literary experience, media analysis, and critical thinking skills.
