Welcome to the Horace Mann School! Our school is located in a multicultural community with more than 26 languages and dialects being spoken. The various cultures add to our rich educational environment. With every morning announcement, I stress the three "R's" - Read, Read and Read! On Saturday, I try to visit the local public library located on Hillside Avenue. Monday morning's announcement makes reference to the children I visit with at our library. On the outer door of my office is a mailbox. I encourage the children to write to me about their reading adventures. I try to respond personally to each of my young readers. By doing this I hope to give the children of P.S. 90 a love of learning through reading. Throughout the year we celebrate reading with special day long events. |
