Principal's
Message
I
would like to extend a warm welcome to our new students, parents, and
staff. I am pleased to have you as partners in this educational year.
Our
goal is to provide students with a healthy educational environment during
their time at Far Rockaway High School. We are partners in your child’s
education. As our partners, we need you to instill in your children the
value of education. Some of the best ways to do this are making sure your
child arrives each day on time and ready to learn, helping them with homework,
and talking with them about ideas and topics that they’re studying
in school. We know that learning together and from one another is one
of the most powerful ways to learn, and it also builds relationships and
community.
Respect
will be an underlying factor in all aspects of the school. Students will
be encouraged to respect themselves, their peers, their teachers, the
building, and their community. While respect goes well beyond this, it
is an essential component in the development of young adults. Keep in
mind - students who make a solid effort, who are cooperative, and who
work with their teachers, enjoy school and find it to be an exciting and
worthwhile experience.
Communication
between school and home is essential. We try to contact homes as often
as necessary and encourage parents to call the school if you have any
concerns. By working together, teachers and parents can effectively impact
each student's experience at Far Rockaway High School.
I
look forward to undertaking this exciting venture with you.
Have
a wonderful, and productive year.
Denise
