TAKATO MATSUKI/MATSUDA
Takato is the new leader and the new goggle boy in Digimon Tamers. He's 10 years old and from Japan. His digimon partner is Gillmon. Takato isn't that much like the previous goggle boys, but he's a true friend. Takato is an artist and loves to draw. He is also very obedient, but is not a very strong fighter.
JENRYA LEE AKA "HENRY WONG"
His digimon partner is Terriermon. Henry is also 10 years old. Henry's mother is Japanese and his father is Chinese. He believes that digimon are important friends. He feels very strongly towards Terriermon and they are very close.
RUKI MAKINO AKA "RIKA NONAKA"
Rika is un-like any female digidestined before her. She has an attitude and enjoys fighting. She thinks of Digimon more as a tool for fighting than as real creatures. Her digimon partner is Renamon. Rika is also a genius girl who has won the championship in digimon card game rally. Through the people and digimon around her, Rika learns the meaning of friendship and kindness.
RYO AKIYAMA
There are more than one versions of Ryo that appear in Digimon. In Digimon Tamers, he appears as the legendary Digimon champion who even beat Ruki - the Digimon Queen. He ends up in the Digital World just like the others, however, his mission is unknown. His partner is Cyberdramon - an out-of-control digimon who is extremely powerful. Ryo seems to be the only one even able to handle Cyberdramon's power. Yet this is only a hint of what Ryo can really do...
Ryo is a mysterious character and very little is known about him. He is the hero of many of the WonderSwan games in Japan. Digimon 02 episode 23, Genesis of Evil, was his anime debut. Ryo also appeared in Our War Game. He is connected to Ken somehow. For example, in the Tag Tamers (don't ask - has to do with the D-3 video game) Ken and Ryo are friends and work together. Ryo is involved with Ken's past. From what I know, Ryo was the first person Ken met in the Digiworld two years before 02. They defeated the mega digimon Milleniumon, but before Milleniumon was defeated, he dispersed its Dark Seeds. Ken pushed Ryo out of the path of one, and thus a dark spore was planted in Ken's neck. Afterwards Ryo just disappeared, no one knows where to or why. In Tag Tamers he is said to live with a father and mother, and his hobbies include chatting online and playing games. According to several sources concerning Tag Tamers, Ryo and Ken saw the battle of Omegamon vs. Diablomon in 'Bokura no Wargame', and shortly afterwards they were visited by a V-mon and told that their help was needed in the Digital World. Thus begins Tag Tamers. Although he is a mystery, Ryo is still an important character. Ryo appears in episodes 23 and 43 of Digimon 02, the "Tag Tamers" game, with Ken Ichijouji, "Another Tamer" game, with Taichi, "Network Tamers" game, probably with Takato, and in "Our War Game," the second Digimon movie.
JURI "JERI" KATOU
Juri is one of Takato's old friends from school. She's kind-hearted and is always smiling. She turns out to be a Digimon Tamer and joins Takato and the others in the Digital World. Leomon is her partner and she cares about him very much. Upon Leomon's death, Jeri's dark-side shows itself and the darkness deep within her heart is revealed.
SHIUCHON LEE AKA "SUZY WONG"
As Henry's little sister, her older brother always looked after her. When Suzy found herself in the Digital World and became a Tamer, Henry took it as his responsibility to get her back to the real world safely. Suzy may be young and cute, however she isn't as naive as she looks. With Antylamon at her side, this pint-size Tamer sure can pack a punch!
HIROKAZU "KAZU" SHIODA
Kazu is the comic relief in Tamers. Always cracking jokes he can make anyone laugh. Kazu's one of Takato's best friends and is almost always seen with Kenta. Unlike Kenta, Kazu has a certain amount of courage, which he isn't always afraid to use. Kazu's partner is Guardromon and the two make an excellent team. Kazu may act like an idiot, but deep down inside, he's a great guy.
KENTA KITAGAWA
Kenta is a little shy and doesn't always know how to express himself, but he's full of spirit and loves to have fun. Like Kazu, Kenta plays the Digimon card game with Takato. Kenta isn't as courageous as Kazu, but they still are the best of friends. He may be silly at times, but there's a lot more to Kenta than what meets the eye.
