Twenty-Five Ways to Show Respect
- Hold the door open for an elderly person.
- Use terms that show manners, such as "Thank you, Your welcome, and Please" .
- With till someone finishes speaking before speaking yourself.
- Arrive at appointments on time.
- Buy a hungry person a sandwich.
- Acknowledge people when they speak to you. Hello, Good Day, How you doing?
- Don’t make fun of people.
- Be nice. Smile.
- Show respect by acknowledging that your parents know more than you do about life.
- Listen to people. Give them a chance before you condemn the wisdom they offer as useless.
- Try to have an intellectual discussion instead of violently arguing a disputed point.
- Be kind and helpful.
- Look people in the eye when speaking to them.
- Follow the rules laid down by your parents.
- Be kind with your criticisms.
- Don’t spread rumors about your friends.
- Respond to a statement by asking meaningful questions.
- Compliment people.
- Come to class on time.
