Twenty-Five Ways to Show Respect

 

  1. Hold the door open for an elderly person.              
  2. Use terms that show manners, such as "Thank you, Your welcome, and Please" . 
  3. With till someone finishes speaking before speaking yourself.  
  4. Arrive at appointments on time.   
  5. Buy a hungry person a sandwich.
  6. Acknowledge people when they speak to you. Hello, Good Day, How you doing?
  7. Don’t make fun of people.
  8. Be nice. Smile.
  9. Show respect by acknowledging that your parents know more than you do about life.
  10. Listen to people. Give them a chance before you condemn the wisdom they offer as useless.
  11. Try to have an intellectual discussion instead of violently arguing a disputed point.
  12. Be kind and helpful.
  13. Look people in the eye when speaking to them.
  14. Follow the rules laid down by your parents.
  15. Be kind with your criticisms.
  16. Don’t spread rumors about your friends.
  17. Respond to a statement by asking meaningful questions.
  18. Compliment people.
  19. Come to class on time.
  20. Pay attention in class.
  21. I listen when my parents tell me what to do.
  22. Respect other people’s personal space.
  23. Don’t use disrespectful hand gestures.
  24. Don’t use racial slurs.
  25. Respect other people’s properties.
