THE BRIDGE TO POST SECONDARY LIFE IS SUPERVISED BY MIDWOOD’S TRANSITIONAL TEAM.
As educators, we are aware of the difficulty our special needs students have adjusting to placements after graduation. With this in mind, we are actively involved with our student’s plans for successful futures. From the time they are freshmen, they are exposed to career planning and the school to work initiatives. Those students planning post-secondary education are encouraged and guided through each term of their high school career.
All activities concerned with transition from year to year throughout high school and beyond are under the supervision of Ms. Maryanne Rudin and Ms. Maria Micillo. Students are able to approach the transitional linkage coordinators daily for assistance or guidance with any problem or question regarding school or career. It is the job of the Transitional Linkage Coordinators to provide information, connections, navigational tips, and exposure to career and college life. In addition, they coordinate the following programs for special education students:
Student Aide Monitors
Executive Internships
Training Opportunities Programs
SAT SUPERVISION
PARENT ADVISORY MEETINGS
GED Program Advisement VESID Contact
