The
drama program is designed to introduce students to all aspects of the theatrical
arts from Ancient Greece to Modern Theater. Students will learn about the
history of theater, and the various components of theatrical production.
Dramatic literature will be studied, including the plays of Shakespeare. Drama
students will participate in a program which focuses on the development of
acting and articulation skills, the analysis of theatrical and movie classics,
and the enhancement of reading and writing skills.

During
past years, the Drama Department has presented the plays, Arsenic and Old
Lace, Annie Jr., and Annie Get Your Gun. This year the performance of
Guys and Dolls was a terrific success. The American Experience, a series
of vignettes written and performed by the students, is the culminating
production of the Drama Department. In addition to
performing, drama students will be prepared to be knowledgeable and appreciative
members of the audience.
