GRANDPARENTS' DAY - May 2, 2006

Our first Grandparents' Day was held this spring and over 200 grandparents attended! We hope the pictures below give you some idea of the event. Grandparents were treated to a breakfast, an auditorium program which included songs from classes K-7, 1-205 and 2-202, solos and poetry from third, fourth and fifth graders and a greeting from our special guest and proud grandma - Carmen Fariña - Deputy Chancellor of the DOE. Grandparents were then escorted to classrooms where they read stories, were read to, interviewed or presented with classroom projects. Thanks to Kathy McKenzie and her mom for suggesting the event and to Kathy, Theresa, Patty, Kathy W., Ana, Stefania, Joanie, and Lorene for organizing the event and to all the other parents, students and teachers who chipped in to make it a special day for all.

Carla Zarr is honored as an alumnus, former PTA president and the grandparent with the most grandchildren in attendance - Edward, Slava, Vova and Vladic!
