| Our school has been selected to be the recipient of a three-year grant to improve children's English language literacy in order to meet the NYC andNYS New Standards. We have begun to implement a school reform model, known as America's Choice, to help meet our goal of raising academic achievement. We will begin to hold all students to high standards, which includes proficiency in reading by the third grade. |

This year(2000-2001), all students, staff and parent volunteers at P.S.160 will participate in the second edition of a global studies, literacy and art for this year,"The Living S tamp Album". The new standards call for an increased emphases on Social Studies, Language and Cultural Arts and this unique magnet program addresses special aspects of grade related curriculum in these areas. A year end school wide magnet fair will highlight all class stamp themes. |
P.S. 160 offers a K-1 multi-age program that accommodates the broad range of children's needs. It facilatates their learning rates and styles, their knowledge along with their experiences and their interests. The program is both challenging and nurturing for the students. |
