The functions and principles
of marketing are the backbone of all businesses, both large and
small. All business activities are ultimately directed toward the
successful distribution of goods and services within the marketplace.
In this respect, marketing represents the culmination of each and
every component of education for business.
Marketing 1 will introduce
students to the important role that marketing plays in our economy.
The student completing this course will demonstrate an understanding
of how businesses use marketing to find customers for their products
and services, and careers in marketing.
Marketing
II
Marketing 2 takes a microscopic
view of how the concepts learned in Marketing 1 apply to retail
business situations. The curriculum moves from an emphasis on theory
to more practical merchandising applications. The student completing
this course will demonstrate an understanding of the various components
of a marketing strategy, careers in marketing and opportunities
for post-secondary education in business and marketing.

Applications
Students in computer
applications will learn to use the Microsoft Office Suite
Microsoft Word, a word
processing program, used for creating and editing documents.
Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet
program, used for analysis and graphing of numerical data.
Microsoft PowerPoint,
a presentation graphics program, used for creating visual presentations.
Note: Students who qualify
can take MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certification after completing
course.
