| Goals of Instruction
This career and technical education program is a unique business
and marketing program developed on the theme of our school,
which is fashion. The program includes courses in marketing,
computer technology, visual communications, as well as courses
specifically related to the world of fashion such as apparel
and accessories and merchandise presentation. This career
and technical major seeks to provide students with a variety
of courses and experiences that will familiarize them with
the numerous career paths available to people skilled in the
merchandising and marketing of fashion and fashion related
products and services. Students will be made aware of opportunities
in window display, exhibition design, retailing, wholesaling,
product development and advertising.
Students also take a Retail Marketing lab, where they experience
first hand how to operate a small business, our fashion boutique
store.
Graduating visual merchandising students qualify for specially
endorsed career and technical education diploma by passing
a technical assessment developed by our industry partner,
PAVE (Planning and Visual Education Partnership)
