Goals of Instruction

This career and technical education program is a unique business and marketing program developed on the theme of our school, which is fashion. The program includes courses in marketing, computer technology, visual communications, as well as courses specifically related to the world of fashion such as apparel and accessories and merchandise presentation. This career and technical major seeks to provide students with a variety of courses and experiences that will familiarize them with the numerous career paths available to people skilled in the merchandising and marketing of fashion and fashion related products and services. Students will be made aware of opportunities in window display, exhibition design, retailing, wholesaling, product development and advertising.

Students also take a Retail Marketing lab, where they experience first hand how to operate a small business, our fashion boutique store.

Graduating visual merchandising students qualify for specially endorsed career and technical education diploma by passing a technical assessment developed by our industry partner, PAVE (Planning and Visual Education Partnership)
