Tech Prep

Course Description

Exploring the Business of Fashion is a 12th Grade Tech Prep Course is designed to provide college-bound students with a practical perspective of business in today’s environment. By combining multiple teaching techniques, the course seeks to offer the hands-on-learner the opportunity of exploring three technologically oriented disciplines of merchandising, manufacturing, and textile development and marketing in a manner that suits his/her comprehension.

This course seeks to remove the walls of the classroom to encourage the inclusion of the world. Interactive conversations with experts in their disciplines, field trips, individual and group activities, research, and lectures are targeted to reinforce theory with practicality. The exercises that are required for this course build upon the English skills developed in the other Tech Prep classes, making this a truly interdisciplinary program.

This is the first half of a one-year course. It meets one period per day, five days a week for 40 minutes.
